I teach from experience — the kind that comes from years on stage, in the studio, and in the writing room. From earning a degree in music education to working with major labels and having songs placed in TV and film, I know what it takes to not just play music, but to create a life around it.

Guitar: from first chords to fine-tuning your style
Vocal Training: tone, control, and delivery
Songwriting: structure, storytelling, and voice
Music Theory: ear training, aural perception
Performance: preparedness and what to expect
Studio Production: achieve vision in recording studio

Adults picking music back up after a break
Teens and kids with that creative spark
Musicians who want real, grounded feedback
Friends, fans, fellow artists ready to go deeper

It doesn’t matter if you have professional ambitions or just want to play for yourself, learning music is about having fun, building your skills, growing your confidence, and adding to your repertoire.

It’s a personalized, down-to-earth approach to learning music. With 35+ years of experience performing, writing, recording and academic credentials, I help each student build skills and confidence at their own pace—no pressure, no cookie-cutter curriculum.
I teach teens, adults, and anyone who loves music. Whether you’re just getting started or want to refine your guitar playing, vocals, or songwriting, I’ll meet you where you’re at and help you reach the next level.
Not at all. I work with beginners of all ages, from teens to retirees. You don’t need experience or perfect fingers—just curiosity and a willingness to start.
Guitar, vocals, songwriting, stage preparedness, studio production, and music theory. We can focus on one area or mix it up depending on your goals.
You can come to my teaching space in Scottsdale or meet online through Zoom.
Lessons are $40 for a 30-minute session or $75 for a 50-minute session.
Payment is due at the first lesson of each month by cash, check, or electronic transfer.
Bring your guitar, a notebook, and an open mind. If you’re learning online, make sure your space is quiet and your internet connection is solid.
You don’t need to “practice” beforehand—just come as you are. We’ll talk about what you love, what you want to learn, and set a comfortable pace from there.
Life happens, and I do my best to be flexible. Cancellations require at least 48 hours’ notice to reschedule or credit the lesson toward next month. Only one missed lesson per month can be rescheduled, regardless of notice.
If notice isn’t given or more than one lesson is missed, the lesson may be forfeited. I’ll always do my best to find a make-up time that works.
